Come out and join the Toronto Beaches Children’s and Youth Chorus! Bronwen Low, Joanne Mitchell, & Jessica Riley, provide a fun learning environment for kids from JK-through high school. The children learn a variety of music from many genres and also focus on a staged production every year. We are looking for enthusiastic kids who simply love to sing and act.

Spaces in the youngest divisions especially, fill up fast. There is no audition for the Piccolo Choir, our JK/SK choir. Registration is done on a first come, first serve basis. Although we have held auditions for our older divisions in past seasons, since the pandemic we have put a pause on these and instead hear children sing once they have joined the choir.
What To Expect
New members of the choir will meet with one of our staff and be asked to sing a song in addition to some rhythm and ear testing. The older kids will be asked to sing some intervals. They may also be asked to do a simple drama exercise. This is simply a chance for us to meet with each child and is not meant to be an intimidating experience. It takes 5-10 minutes depending on the age of the child. They don’t need to be an “accomplished singer”, as long as they show some basic skills and have a love of singing and acting.
Tips And Tricks
Have your child sing a song they are comfortable singing. It does not have to be difficult in nature. A simple folk song or something your child has learned in school is sufficient. It is better to sing something simple and well.
Getting lots of rest and drinking lots of fluid is always advisable.
